Hyderabad, Oct 27 (IANS) Hyderabad Cyber Crime Police has registered a case and launched investigation after Tollywood superstar and former Union Minister Konidela Chiranjeevi complained that some websites were publishing AI-generated and morphed porn videos using her name and image.
The case has been registered under sections 67 and 67A of the IT Act, sections 79, 294, 296 and 336(4) of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS) and sections 2(c), 3 and 4 of the Indecent Representation of Women (Prohibition) Act, 1986.
The actor, who recently obtained an ad-interim injunction from the City Civil Court to protect his identity against unauthorized exploitation, filed a complaint with details of websites circulating AI-generated and morphed porn videos using his name and image.
He said the websites have hosted, published and distributed AI-generated and morphed obscene videos using his name, likeness and image, falsely portraying him in obscene sexual acts with a person named ‘Meenakshi’ and others.
“These videos are completely fake and created using artificial intelligence, commonly known as deepfake pornography, which unlawfully manipulates and transforms my facial features and personality into obscene content,” Chiranjeevi said.
The actor demanded an immediate criminal and technical investigation against the accused websites/platforms and all persons/entities involved in the creation, uploading, hosting and dissemination of AI-generated pornographic content. They also demanded immediate blocking, deletion and removal of all such content from the Internet.
He noted that as an eminent film artiste, public figure and former Union Minister, he is known for his contributions to the film industry and society through his philanthropic efforts.
Chiranjeevi said that his films consistently reflect themes of honesty, compassion and resilience, making him one of the most respected and admired public figures in the film fraternity. “Apart from my film career, I have also devoted significant time and resources to philanthropic activities, setting up charitable foundations and contributing to causes such as healthcare, education, blood donation and disaster relief, long before such acts of social service became popular or fashionable. Over the past several decades, through unimaginable hard work and impeccable honesty, I have cultivated dignity, decency and moral integrity both as an actor and a Have earned reputation. Citizens,” he said.
The megastar said in his complaint that AI-generated and deepfake porn videos being circulated by some websites are causing serious and irreparable damage to his hard-earned reputation. He said that these manufactured videos are being used maliciously to depict them in obscene and vulgar contexts, thereby distorting public perception and undermining decades of goodwill.
The actor said that the said act is a direct and intentional violation of his right to privacy, reputation and dignity protected under Article 21 of the Constitution of India and a serious offense under the Information Technology Act, including, but not limited to, sections 66E, 67, 67A and 67B of the Indian Penal Code and the applicable Indian Judicial Code.
He also told the police that the publication of these videos is not an isolated act, as there is a pattern of organized and malicious conduct among these websites.
“The unrestricted public access of these videos constitutes an extremely serious offense and requires immediate blocking, removal and digital forensic tracing of those responsible for creating, uploading and disseminating this content,” he said.
