Ahilyanagar, 5 October (IANS) Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday in Ahilyanagar, Maharashtra, Dr. Vitthalrao Waihe Patil inaugurated the extended capacity of the Cooperative Sugar Factory, and said that the Chinese cooperative sector of India has “benefited greatly for Prime Minister Narendra Mode-LED government”.
Earlier in the day, HM Shah also offered his prayer at the Shirdi Sai Baba temple.
Addressing the event in Ahiliyanagar, he said, “I am happy to come here in the field, which is now added to Ahilya Bai. When Eknath Shinde was the Chief Minister and Devendra Fadnavis was the Deputy Chief Minister, the BJP-led government changed the name of Aurangabad after Alia Bai.
“Today, I have come to Pravara Nagar. The city is known as the center of cooperative societies across the country. The main reason for this is the Padma Shri Vicky Patil. He devoted his entire life to the welfare of the farmers of Maharashtra,” he said.
The Home Minister said that after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, India’s Chinese cooperative sector “has benefited greatly.”
“Chinese cooperative societies should produce multi-feed ethanol in non-untouchable weather … When Prime Minister Narendra Modi established the cooperative ministry, the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC) schemes were introduced to strengthen sugar mills in the cooperative sector. The balance sheets of Chinese cooperative societies have changed, which have changed with the introduction of ethanol,” said the cooperative minister.
Talking about the floods in the state, which have been wreaked havoc in the state, the Union Home Minister said, “Indradev has sent a disaster to the farmers of Maharashtra this time. More than seven hectares of farmers’ land and their crops have been destroyed.”
“For the years of 2025 and 2026, we have given a subsidy of Rs 3,132 crore to the Maharashtra government under the courage of the Center. Out of which a subsidy of Rs 1,631 crore has been given by PM Narendra Modi in April. The Maharashtra government has also said that farmers have been asked to help.”
The Home Minister also praised CM Devendra Fadnavis, and Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde and Ajit Pawar for their efforts to deal with the problem caused by torrential rains and floods in the state. He also assured that the Center is committed to providing all the necessary assistance to the affected people.
“On behalf of PM Modi, I have assured him that the Maharashtra government should send a detailed report to the Center. It was possible because the people of Maharashtra have chosen a government who cares about everyone. All NDA MLAs have also donated their one month’s salary to the relief fund,” he said.
