China ‘firmly’ urges Pakistan to practice calm, restraint

Beijing, May 10: China on Saturday urged “firmly” India and Pakistan to practice calm and restraint and return to a peaceful disposal track.

China is closely following the situation between India and Pakistan and is deeply concerned about an increase in a statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry here.

The statement issued by the ministry spokesman said, “We strongly urge both sides to act in large interests of peace and stability, practice calm and restraint, return to the track of political disposal through peaceful means, and avoid any action that can further increase stress.”

“This will be important for the fundamental interest of both India and Pakistan and for a stable and peaceful region. It is also what the international community expects to look into. China is ready to play a creative role by the end,” it said.
