Hyderabad, Nov 14 (IANS) Chief Ministers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh and leaders of various political parties greeted children on the occasion of Children’s Day on Friday.

Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy remembered great freedom fighter and the country’s first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary.

The Chief Minister greeted all children on the occasion of National Children’s Day, which is celebrated every year on a grand scale to commemorate Nehru’s birth anniversary.

CM said that the state government is fulfilling the aspirations of Nehru, considering children as national assets and working for their better future.

He said the “people’s government”, inspired by Nehru that today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens, introduced several reforms in the school education sector.

CM Revanth Reddy also said that the government is making efforts aimed at strengthening the education sector and stressed that the progress of the poor and weaker sections is possible only through education. CM appealed to everyone to contribute in making children better citizens in the society.

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu wished all the children. He said that to empower and enable the generation of tomorrow in every way, the coalition government is continuously working to pave a golden path for their future.

He said, “Providing education to children contributes to their all-round development. That is why, through Talli’s Vandanam scheme, we are encouraging all parents to send their children to school. Even in the mid-day meal scheme, we are ensuring that the menu includes things that children like.”
