Lucknow, Nov 10 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also joined the group of national leaders in expressing deep grief over the devastating car blast near Delhi’s Red Fort this evening that claimed 10 lives and injured dozens of others.
In a heartfelt post on his X handle, the CM expressed condolences to the bereaved families and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured while invoking Lord Shri Ram for divine solace.
Adityanath wrote, “The loss of lives in the unfortunate explosion in Delhi today is deeply saddened.”
“My thoughts are with the bereaved families of those who lost their lives untimely. I pray to Lord Shri Ram to grant salvation to the departed souls, give strength to the bereaved families to bear this immense loss and speedy recovery to the injured.”
The explosion, which took place near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort metro station, spread panic in the densely populated Old Delhi area.
Eyewitnesses described a deafening roar that “felt like the earth was collapsing,” with plumes of black smoke billowing from the debris.
Delhi Police Commissioner Satish Golcha confirmed the intensity of the blast, adding that seven fire tenders were rushed to douse the fire, while the area was immediately cordoned off.
Notably, Jammu and Kashmir Police in the morning busted an inter-state international terror module linked to terror outfits Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) and Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, leading to the recovery of 2,900 kg of explosives, two assault rifles, pistols, timers and other material in Faridabad area of Haryana near New Delhi. Police said seven people have been arrested so far.
After the explosion at the Red Fort, this recovery took place just a day before the second phase of Bihar assembly elections.
