Lucknow, Oct 30 (IANS) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the ongoing construction of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum in Agra and directed officials to complete the building by January while ensuring timely inauguration.
The Chief Minister emphasized that the museum will serve as a symbol of India’s bravery, self-respect and cultural glory.
He said the museum should not remain a static display, but should be developed into a vibrant, interactive experience where visitors can connect with India’s glorious past.
Highlighting the ‘Shivaji and the Great Escape Gallery’, CM Yogi directed that the historical escape of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj from Agra Fort be recreated using 7D technology, digital sound, lighting and visual effects to make the event come alive for the visitors.
Regarding the ‘Festival Gallery’, CM Yogi said that it should bring to life the major festivals of Uttar Pradesh – such as Mahashivratri and Dev Diwali in Kashi, Shri Krishna Janmotsav and Rangotsav in Braj and Mahakumbh in Prayagraj – through intense sound, light and color experiences rather than static images.
The Chief Minister has directed that every artefact, sculpture and architectural element in the Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Museum to be built in Agra should symbolize the cultural soul of Uttar Pradesh. He said each wall, courtyard and artwork should tell a story, showcasing a blend of folk art, traditional crafts and modern creativity.
CM Yogi further directed that an “Agra Gallery” be developed to highlight the architectural and cultural heritage of the city, allowing visitors to experience Mughal architecture, Braj culture and modern Agra.
He also ordered the development of an “Orientation Gallery” to acquaint visitors with the vision of the museum, the life of Shivaji Maharaj and the socio-cultural milieu of his times.
Emphasizing on innovation, CM Yogi said that the museum should not only preserve the past but also serve as a center of inspiration for the future. He called for the use of interactive technology, virtual reality, digital archives and sound-light shows in all galleries to create an immersive experience.
The Chief Minister stressed that all the work should be completed on schedule and with high quality, adding that the museum will enhance the global identity of Agra and become a living symbol of the cultural pride of Uttar Pradesh.
