Indian Grandmaster Nihal Sarin said on X that Kramnik “will have to pay the price for what he is doing”, alleging that Naroditsky was under “extreme stress” from the allegations. Chess streamer Nemo Zhou also urged Fide to intervene, calling the situation “unacceptable”.
FIDE expressed condolences to Naroditsky’s family and said he would be honored with a special award recognizing his contributions as a player, teacher and commentator.
Kramnik, who has made similar public allegations against other players in recent years, told Reuters: “I would like to tell the whole story, have no desire to comment on Emil Sutovsky’s statement, but will comment on the statement of the FIDE president (Arkady Dvorkovich) if it comes out.”

Kramnik, the world champion from 2000-07, is considered one of the game’s greatest players.
Naroditsky, a Stanford graduate and former world under-12 champion whose parents were Jewish immigrants from the Soviet Union, was a pioneer in online chess It has millions of followers on YouTube and Twitch. He finished ninth in the Blitz World Championship last year.
