‘Check from below’: Memes galore after NDA’s strong lead in 2025 Bihar elections

Counting of votes for Bihar Assembly elections is going well, with initial trends predicting a huge lead for the NDA. At 1 pm, trends showed that the NDA was leading in 198 out of 243 seats and Nitish Kumar was set to win for the fifth consecutive time.

As soon as Bihar saw the results, social media was flooded with humorous memes, turning the counting day into a complete comedy fest and poking fun at political parties and leaders.

Making fun of Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraj party, a user posted a picture with the tagline, “Neeche se check kar… Neeche se!”

Another said, ‘Nehru ji is watching the Congress performance on his birthday.’

One user commented, “Bihari is the best.”

Another person commented, “It’s the same story in every election.”

A user wrote, “Every political party today: ‘Hum jeet rahe hain.’ Reality: “Aap sab milke bhi nahi rahe hain.”

A third user poked fun at RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav as he trails, writing, “Aur jab humaari baari aayi CM banne ki, toh sala Exit Poll bhi sahi nikal gaya.”

Sharing the picture of PM Modi, a user shared, “When you are leading in Bihar but Nitish can always return.”

A user shared a famous scene from Panchayat 4 and said, when Kranti Devi had won the election, he said, ‘The scene of every election result day in India.’

Bihar Assembly elections were held in two phases – the first on 6 November and the second on 11 November – in all 243 constituencies. There are a total of 7.42 crore registered voters, of which 3.92 crore are men and 3.5 crore are women. Voting percentage was high with 65.08% voting in the first phase and 68.76% in the second phase i.e. total 66.91% voting.

Exit polls released on 11 and 12 November indicated a clear advantage for the ruling NDA, with a comfortable lead over the grand alliance.
