CDS General Anil Chauhan inaugurates the spurs outreach program for defense pensioners

New Delhi: Mainly the Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan inaugurated the spars outreach program at Siliguri on Thursday, which was organized by the Comptroller (CDA) Patna of Defense accounts (CDA) Patna in coordination with the headquarters 111 area at Bengdubi Military Station.

The purpose of the program was to enlighten defense pensioners, which were about the various features provided by the spurs, including the strong grievance redressal mechanisms.

A press statement stated in a press statement, “Detailed briefing was given to familiarize pensioners with the benefits and procedures of spurs. Dedicated counters were installed to register, pension related discrepancies, grief redressal and a support of pensioners with spot solutions provided by CDA team.”

CDS General Anil Chauhan inaugurated the incident in which Lieutenant General Pawan Chadha and Lieutenant General Jubin A Minwalla, General Officer Commanding (GOC) 33 Corps participated.

The statement said, “The outreach program was organized to verify the documents, solve the discrepancies and to streamlined pension processing through direct connections with the authorities.”

The program aligns with the Ministry of Defense, leading outreach efforts that bring services closer to veterans, especially in remote areas or with limited digital access.

CDS received the degree of touch as Digital India, DBT-operated, “minimum government, maximum governance” reform, which brings the entire pension cycle to the same platform.

“Pension is now credited directly by PCDA (pension) to remove middlemen and reduce error routes. Pensioners were made aware of self-service access to verify details, update records and increase online complaints, improve transparency and deadline,” This said.

Around 31 lakh defense pensioners are now placed on the ship on spurs with direct credit in their bank accounts, underlining the reach of the system.
