a 20 year old young man huddersfield fatally stabbed Syria Refugees in the neck just weeks after relocating to the city.
CCTV footage released by West Yorkshire Police Alfie Franco, 20, is shown in the city center with his then-girlfriend on Friday (October 10) as 16-year-old Ahmed Mamdouh Al Ibrahim passed by with a friend.
Prosecutors said Franco made “some minor objections” to Ahmed passing “harmlessly” past his girlfriend and it appeared the two had a brief verbal altercation.
As Ahmed moved forward, Franco took a knife from his pocket and stabbed the teen in the neck. The 16-year-old boy managed to stagger away but later collapsed and died of bleeding.
On Thursday (October 9), Franco was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 23 years. He pleaded innocent and said he had acted in self-defence but the judge said this was “a lie”.
