CCI starts investigation into complaints against IndiGo over flight disruptions

According to the regulator, the Competition Commission of India (CCI) has recently initiated an investigation after taking cognizance of complaints filed against IndiGo regarding flight disruptions on various routes.

Based on its initial assessment, the CCI said it has decided to proceed in the case as per the provisions of the Competition Act, 2002. The regulator did not immediately disclose details on the scope or timeline of the investigation.

This development comes after severe operational disruptions earlier this month, which led to massive flight cancellations and delays across IndiGo’s network. The airline has since said it has restored full network operations, operating close to its normal schedule of about 2,200 daily flights.

IndiGo had earlier said it operated around 2,050 flights on December 13, then gradually restored its full flight schedule in the days that followed.
