As the fake-daycare scandal continues to explode in Minnesota, the “MSM” is doing everything it can to ignore it.
Meanwhile, Nick Shirley, a freelance investigative journalist, is getting around it at his own game.
His video exposing the fraud had 42 million views on X when I covered it yesterday and is now approaching 100 million today:
“Influencer” Beats MSM, Exposes $110 Million Fraud in Minnesota – 42 Million Views!
Thanks to Elon Musk for buying Twitter and making things like this possible!
The last bastion of free speech!
And while the so-called “mainstream media” should be doing so, they are not.
In fact, it seems like they’re deliberately trying to ignore it and just hope it goes away.
From that time, till today. Or so I thought.
Because I (finally) saw this post from CBS News on X – finally mentioning the massive fraud in Minnesota:
There’s a lot of conversation happening here about rampant fraud in Minnesota. Read all our reporting right here: https://t.co/VbUBGkjhuh
– CBS News (@CBSNews) 28 December 2025
Screenshot if they delete the post:
Some initial thoughts and then I’ll show you what a huge failure it was.
So my first thought was what an arrogant and condescending post this is.
do you see it?
Take some time to really read what they wrote and let it sink in.
The implication, at least to me, is quite clear and quite condescending. They’re indicating that there has been “a lot of conversation” on
Except…the reality is quite the opposite.
Allow me to fix this for you CBS News….
instead of:
“There’s been a lot of conversation here about rampant fraud in Minnesota. Read all of our reporting right here:”
This would fit much better:
“There’s a lot of real investigative journalism being done by Nick Shirley and others at X. This is what we should be doing but we haven’t published anything since December 20th and we’re desperately trying to ignore this story and hope it goes away.”
This would be much more accurate.
Because while the CBS News post implies that they have actual and authentic reporting on this story, when you actually go to the link they posted, you find that their last article was published on December 20th, nothing since then, and the article they published on December 20th was not investigative journalism exposing fraud, it was a protectionist article about disputing Tim Walz’s claims and saying there was no fraud:

Unreal!
This is why no one trusts the MSM anymore, and nothing could be a better example than this absolutely tone-deaf attempt to reclaim the narrative.
