In a horrific incident in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, a man was killed and another seriously injured when a speeding SUV collided with their two-wheeler. The accident occurred on Friday near Iyengar Kalam area when the SUV coming from the opposite direction collided head-on with the two-wheeler.
Subsequently, the speeding SUV dragged the scooter that was stuck under the front of the vehicle for nearly 50 meters.
The incident was captured on a nearby CCTV camera and the SUV could be seen dragging the two-wheeler for a few meters before coming to a stop.
As soon as the SUV stopped, locals rushed to the spot. The two people on the two-wheeler sustained serious injuries and were taken to a nearby hospital.
Doctors declared the 44-year-old man, Balamurugan, dead while the other man, Ramesh, was undergoing treatment.
The Tamil Nadu police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the matter.
In a similar incident in Odisha, two people were seriously injured when a car dragged a two-wheeler for about a kilometer in Patiya, Bhubaneswar. The accident happened on Wednesday night.
According to the information, the car suddenly hit a scooter and the two-wheeler driver fell to the ground. He was injured and was quickly taken to hospital.
The vehicle reportedly hit another person before hitting the scooter, who was also taken to hospital.
