Dhanbad, Nov 5 (IANS) Dhanbad Police seized Rs 17,34,900 in cash, 70 property-related documents, a pistol, 47 live cartridges and several other incriminating items during a massive raid on the hideouts of fugitive gangster Prince Khan’s henchmen in Wasseypur. Officials gave this information on Wednesday.
Prince Khan, one of the most wanted criminals of Jharkhand, has been carrying out his activities from Dubai for the last four years.
The raids, which lasted for more than nine hours, were carried out simultaneously at multiple locations in Wasseypur and other areas under Bank Mod police station limits.
The seized items also included bank documents, two laptops and three mobile phones, indicating a large-scale financial and digital trail of the gang’s activities.
Addressing a press conference on Wednesday, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Prabhat Kumar said that four people – Parvez Khan, Saif Alam, Tausif Alam and Imtiaz Ali – have been arrested in this connection.
Describing them as Prince Khan’s “sleeper cell”, the SSP said they were involved in hawala, money laundering, land grab and extortion and were instrumental in handling the gang’s finances and logistics.
Police said several other people were detained for questioning and later released.
Around 60 police personnel, including a special team formed to dismantle the financial and operational networks of the gang, were involved in the operation.
During interrogation, the police identified more than 100 persons who allegedly provided financial assistance to Prince Khan out of fear.
Investigation revealed that the arrested accused transferred the extortion amount to Prince Khan in Dubai through digital channels and USDT (cryptocurrency), making it difficult to trace the flow of funds.
The SSP described the gang’s activities as a well-organized crime syndicate, spanning from illegal land deals to cross-border hawala transactions.
Prince Khan is wanted in several cases of murder, extortion, arms smuggling and organized crime. Red Corner Notice has been issued by Interpol on the request of Jharkhand Police.
Despite living abroad, he often releases videos on social media claiming responsibility for crimes and threatening rivals.
The latest action comes a day after Dhanbad police raided 30 locations across the city and arrested seven of his associates.
