Ottawa – Prime Minister Mark Carney says that US President Donald Trump is creating an opportunity to end Russia’s illegal war in Ukraine. “
After meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on Friday, Carney is praising the US government’s efforts to end the war in a statement today.
Ukrainian President Volodimier Zelancesi did not attend the summit, which ended without any agreement for the ceasefire or route to end the war.
Carney said in his statement that Canada is coordinating with Zelancesi and other partners to intensify stable support for Ukraine.
Carney participated in a conversation with European leaders on Wednesday and spoke directly with Zelansky on Monday.
The Prime Minister on social media says that Canadian partners emphasize that Ukrainian decides his future with military and economic pressure strengthened diplomatic efforts on Russia to end the war.
