A statement from the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that Canadian Foreign Minister Anand, who accompanied Carney on his trip, told Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi that the prime minister looked forward to charting the course for the development of bilateral relations and restarting dialogue in various fields.

The Canadian prime minister is expected to speak to reporters in Beijing later on Friday.
