Police found a child inside an abandoned car that had been stolen and her mother left the car running with the keys inside.
Video shared by the city government Atlanta Police officers woke up an 8-year-old girl who was asleep in the back seat of a car, police said on Saturday (January 10). The girl was not injured.
A video later showed the mother talking to police, saying she went into a nearby grocery store for “a full minute” before returning to find her car and children missing.
Police shared the video online and issued a warning to parents: “Even if you leave briefly, turn off the car, take the keys with you, and always take your children with you.”
