Canada Pol 2025: Prominent Indian original candidate running for Canada Federal Election 2025

Canada is ready for an important federal election on 28 April, with a significant number of candidates of Indian origin for seats in the country’s Parliament.

Many high-profiles are holding Indian Canadian elections, which include some support members of the liberal government. Here are some notable candidates:

Anita AnandIn the cabinet of Prime Minister Mark Carney, the Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry, Ottario, are running for the election again in Okville ride. He is one of the few MPs who have retained the ministerial positions from the previous Justin Trudeau government. Anand, who was the first Transport Minister, announced his decision to withdraw from electoral politics, but his mind has changed since then.

Kamal kheraIn the cabinet of PM Carney, the Health Minister is contesting from Brampton West Consitative, which he has represented since 2015. She was one of the youngest women selected to the Canadian Parliament. Khera, a registered nurse and community volunteer, moved to Canada with his Indian parents as a young girl. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from York University, Toronto.

Jagmeet SinghSince 2017, NDP leaders have been selecting elections not only from Burnbai South’s own constituency, but are also actively campaigning for NDP candidates in Canada. He was first elected to Ontario’s Legislative Assembly in 2011, until he entered the federal politics, represented Brahma -Gor -Malton.

Jayesh brahmbhattA real estate developer and a Canadian People’s party candidate, contesting elections. Brahmabhatta, who lives in Canada in 2001, said, “We are standing for freedom, responsibility, fairness and respect for all of us, and somewhere it resonates with me. I talk to many people, and they seek change from this election.” According to Toi, he also said, “Political parties in Canada are now recognizing Indians as an important community in the political field, and sub-groups such as Gujaratis are being given the most opportunity to represent and hear the most.”

Sunjiv rawalA successful businessman and Liberal party candidate, Calgary is contesting from Midnapur. Rawal, who has been actively involved in community work and has represented several Indian community groups, said, “We are fighting on issues faced by the middle class, seeking better infrastructure and sports facilities, cheap housing and work opportunities for all.”

Sukh dhaliwalSince 2015, members of Parliament for Surrey Newton have been actively involved in the Surrey community and have headed the Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration. In addition to being a professional engineer, land surveyor, and owner of small business, a politician, Dhaliwal has been a strong lawyer for his components and has tirelessly tried to overcome his concerns.

Perm Bains Won elections in the federal election of 2021 and Richmond is Liberal Party MP for Steveston. His family moved from Punjab to Canada. Before joining politics, he was a trainer in Quantlen Polytechnic University and media personnel with the provincial government. He will contest for the same seat this year.

Maninder SidhuAnother MP from Brampton East was elected in 2019 and won again in 2021. He has been a member of the Standing Committee on Natural Resources and the Transport, infrastructure and Standing Committee on Community. He will also contest for the same seat in 2025.

These candidates, among others, are dying for seats in Canadian Parliament, and their campaigns reflect the diversity and complexity of the Indian Canadian community.

Elections are likely to be at the forefront of the campaign with issues such as economy, healthcare, and immigration.
