Canada, NATO colleagues warns Iran of 'increasing number' of state hazards

Ottawa – Canada and many of its NATO colleagues have issued a joint statement condemning the “growing number” of state dangers from Iranian intelligence services.

The joint statement released on Thursday stated that the countries are united in protest against the efforts to “kill, kidnap and oppress people in North America and Europe.

The statement was also signed by the governments of Albania, Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, United Kingdom and United States.

It says that Iranian intelligence services are rapidly collaborating with international criminal organizations to target journalists, disgruntled, Jewish citizens and current and former government officials.

This statement does not refer to any specific events, but says that attacks violate the sovereignty of countries and ask Iranian authorities to “immediately” that it ends illegal activities.

Global Affairs have reached Canada for Canadian press comments, but no response has been received yet.
