Canada condemns Israel on human crisis in Gaza

Ottawa – Prime Minister Mark Karney on Thursday accused the Israeli government of failing to violate international law by stopping the rapid deteriorating human crisis in Gaza.

In a post on X, Carney stated that the control of Israel’s support distribution should be replaced by the “comprehensive provision” of humanitarian aid under the leadership of international organizations.

He said, “Canada called all the parties to interact on the immediate ceasefire in good faith.”

“We reiterated our calls for Hamas to release all the hostages immediately, and to honor the regional integrity of West Bank and Gaza for the Israeli government.”

The Israeli Parliament on Wednesday approved a symbolic proposal to enact West Bank. West bank’s annexation may be impossible to create a viable Palestinian state with Israel, which is seen as the only realistic way to resolve the struggle internationally.

Carney said that Canada supports a two-state solution, with External Affairs Minister Anita Anand to attend the United Nations Conference next week on the issue.

Anand said that it is “unforgivable” that women and children in Gaza are without enough access to food and water.

“The Israeli government must allow the uninhabited flow of human aid to reach the Palestinian citizens, which is immediately needed,” he said on X.

Her comments came on the same day when French President Emmanuel Macron announced that her country would recognize Palestine as a state.

Macron said in a post on X that it would formally form the decision in the United Nations General Assembly in September.

“Today the important thing is that the war in Gaza stops and the civilian population survives,” he wrote.

Most symbolic tricks added diplomatic pressure on Israel as war and humanitarian crisis in Gaza strip anger.

France is now the largest western power to recognize Palestine, and this step can pave the way for other countries to do the same. More than 140 countries recognize a Palestinian state, including more than a dozen in Europe.

Palestinians searched an independent state in the West Bank occupied, attached East Jerusalem and Gaza, capturing Israel in the Middle East War of 1967.

The Canada was one of the more than two dozen countries including the United Kingdom, Japan and Australia, issued a joint statement this week, calling for an immediate end to the war in Gaza.
