Director of the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, Michael Cretios recently went viral after disclosing a speech that Donald Trump administration had the ability to “manipulate time and place” and “eliminate the distance”.
Mr. Cretios made a bold statement on Monday (April 14), during the Andlesome Frontiers Retreat, a scientific conference in Texas focused on promoting American technological innovations to maintain global competition.
“Our technologies allow us to manipulate time and location. They eliminate distance, grow things and improve productivity,” said Mr. Cretios in the East-Taiyar speech.
During the speech, Mr. Cretios focused on promoting research and development of the Temp Administration’s technology agenda, and enabled American companies to lead globally. However, in the end, he referred to his earlier statement again.
“This is the choice of individuals who will make the new American golden era possible: the choice of individuals to mastered the state’s sclerosis, and to craft new techniques, the choice of individuals and to give themselves to scientific discoveries that will twist the time and location, will be more with less, and we will move in endless marginal.”

Social media reacts
While the White House is yet to release a formal explanation, the word of the speech suggests that the phrase was metaphor. However, it did not prevent some social media users from donating their conspiracy hats and discovering a deep meaning.
“Why isn’t this a big deal ??” One user wrote while the other said: “What does,” our technologies allow us to manipulate time and location. They leave the distance, “really mean?
One third remarked: “He is talking about jets, semiconductors, broadbands, satellites, smartphones and clouds. Not teleportation and time travel.”
Currently, no equipment is publicly known that can ‘manipulate time and location’ or make distance irrelevant.
