Police say a person from Burlington has been sentenced to life imprisonment in jail after killing his wife of 2023.
Halton police say 73 -year -old Sandor Somogi was originally accused of killing his wife after being found dead on January 13, 2023 after being found dead at Berlington residence.
They say that a jury found him guilty of killing a second degree in April this year.
Police say Somogi appeared in court for sentence on Tuesday, where a judge ruled that he would not be eligible for parole for 13 and a half years.
The police did not disclose the cause of death in the case.
The Helton police said in a news release that they hope that the results of the court proceedings bring the “some measures of treatment” to the community.
