New Delhi, November 7 (IANS) After the first phase of Bihar elections, BJP leader Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Friday said that the heavy turnout is a clear indication of the NDA’s decisive victory.

Speaking to IANS, Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi said, “Bumper voting is a sign of a bumper victory. It clearly reflects the mood of the people. Despite attempts by some parties to discourage voters – sometimes by spreading fabricated stories about EVMs or creating false stories of vote rigging – the people of Bihar demonstrated their passion and commitment to democracy by voting in large numbers in the first phase. It is both a lesson and a message to those who tried to discourage him.”

Nearly 65 percent voting took place in the first phase of assembly elections in Bihar on Thursday, the highest in the electoral history of the state. In this election, women voters came out in large numbers to exercise their franchise and BJP is terming it as a proof of their faith in the NDA government led by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in the state and the policies of the Center led by PM Modi.

Naqvi also reacted to the 150th anniversary of India’s national song Vande Mataram and said, “Vande Mataram is not just a national song; it is a symbol of national pride. When it was accepted as the national song, it was not a decision of any one community, but the entire country came together.”

The entire country is celebrating the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram on Friday. This composition, an enduring anthem, has inspired countless generations of freedom fighters and nation builders, standing as an enduring symbol of India’s national identity and collective spirit. ‘Vande Mataram’ composed by Bankim Chandra Chatterjee was first published in the literary magazine Bangadarshan on November 7, 1875.

Later, Bankim Chandra Chatterjee included this hymn in his immortal novel ‘Anandamath’, which was published in 1882. It was composed by Rabindranath Tagore. It has become an integral part of the civilization, political and cultural consciousness of the country. The commemoration of this milestone presents an opportunity to reaffirm the timeless message of unity, sacrifice and devotion that Vande Mataram symbolizes for all Indians.
