He has cemented his status as one of Europe’s most feared forwards and is expected to play a leading role in England’s World Cup bid this summer.
Saka always looked likely to secure a new contract at Arsenal and, although no official announcement is expected immediately, he now looks set to commit his future to the Emirates Stadium this season, alongside key defensive duo William Saliba and Gabriel.
Ethan Nwaneri Myles-Lewis Skelly, who like Saka is an academy graduate, has also agreed new terms in the past six months, with sporting director Andrea Berta moving quickly to tie down the club’s best talent.
Arsenal also invested £250 million in the summer transfer window to sign eight new players.
Asked about his future last season, Saka, whose only trophy at Arsenal was the club’s FA Cup triumph in 2020, said: “For me, I want to win, I want to win wearing this badge.
“Obviously the fans know how much I love them. I think they love me too. So it’s a good relationship and I’m happy to be here.”
Saka has found the back of the net seven times so far this season, while Arsenal are still fighting on four fronts.
Despite failing to beat champions Liverpool on Thursday, Arteta’s side remain six points ahead of rivals Manchester City as they seek to end a 22-year wait for the league title.
They travel to Portsmouth for an FA Cup tie on Sunday before facing Chelsea in the Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge next week.
