Buckingham Palace makes big announcement about King Charles

Buckingham Palace confirmed that King Charles, who is undergoing treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer, will join Queen Camilla and other members of the royal family for an Easter service at St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on Sunday.

The king and queen will be “accompanied by other members of the royal family,” the palace announced.

However, Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three children will not attend the funeral, which is unlikely to be a large family gathering.

Four days ago, Kate, Princess of Wales, revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventive chemotherapy.

The Prince of Wales will return to public duties after his and Kate’s children Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louise return to school after the Easter holidays. The future king would continue to balance supporting his wife and family.

Charles, 75,’s decision to attend will be seen as significant as it shows the king’s doctors are pleased he was able to attend the event despite being treated for cancer.

According to the church website, the couple will attend formal Easter morning prayers, which will take place from 10.45am to 11.45am and last one hour.

King Charles’ appearance at St George’s Chapel this weekend will be the monarch’s most important appearance since he was diagnosed with cancer last month. He suspended all public-facing duties after announcing his diagnosis, which was discovered in February after undergoing surgery to correct an enlarged prostate.
