The Border Security Force (BSF) on Thursday thwarted a major infiltration attempt along the international border in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir.
The effort was made on 8 May at 11 pm on 8 May.
In a post on X, BSF Jammu wrote, “In about 2300 hours on 8 May 2025, BSF thwarted a major infiltration bid in the international border in Samba district, J&K.”
Earlier, defense sources also said that the Indian Army shot two Pakistani drones in the Nowshera region of Jammu and Kashmir. The drone was intercepted during the heavy exchange of artillery fire between Indian and Pakistani forces.
According to the integrated defense employees of the headquarters, Pakistan tried to target military stations in Jammu, Pathankot and Udampur, located near the international border. The Indian armed forces strongly responded, and there was no loss of life.
In a post on X, headquarters integrated defense staff said: “In proximity to the international border of Jammu, Pathankot and Udhampur, using missiles and drones targeted by Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir. No disadvantages. No disadvantages. No disadvantages. Threat to neutral and non-time by Indian armed forces.”
Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Thursday held a meeting with the directors of all border guarding forces to review the current security situation with India’s borders.
The meeting was focused on evaluating the preparations and readiness of Indian forces after Pakistan’s large -scale drone and missile attacks on Indian regions including Jammu and Rajasthan. The targeted areas included Savari, Samba, RS Pura, Arnia and Jaisalmer. All upcoming missiles were intercepted by Indian air defense systems, and there was no major damage.
In a separate meeting, the Home Minister reviewed the security at airports across India along with the Director General of the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) in view of the increased alert at the places of the major infrastructure.
These developments come after the launch of India’s “Operation Sindor” on 7 May. During the operation, the Indian armed forces carried out missile strikes at nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Pojk).
According to Indian officials, the attacks targeted the infrastructure associated with terrorist groups like Lashkar-e-Tabiba and Jaish-e-Mohammed. Operation was done on 22 April in response to a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir (ANI).
