BSF Performs ‘Shastra Puja’ on India-Pakistan Border in Jaisalmer on Vijayadashami

Jaisalmer, 2 October (IANS), on the auspicious occasion of Border Security Force (BSF) Vijayadashami in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, performed traditional ‘Shastra Puja’ on the India-Pakistan border on Thursday. The formal puja of arms sent a strong message of immediate and resolved any opponent across the border from the Jaisalmer Artillery Regiment.

Vijayadashami, which is celebrated as the victory of good over evil, holds deep importance in Indian tradition. It marks the day the day Lord Rama defeated the demon king Ravana, symbolizing the victory of righteousness over injustice. For armed and paramilitary forces of India, this day gives extra importance as it outlines their commitment to protect the nation from any danger.

The day began with traditional enthusiasm at BSF’s Artillery Regiment Camp in the desert area of ​​Jaisalmer.

The soldiers wearing a formal dress in the morning to perform rituals of arms rituals. The proceedings began with the call of Goddess Durga and her divine protector, Yoginis Jaya and Vijaya.

Pushp prasad was made for the artillery, and each weapon was cleaned from small weapons to heavy artillery, adorned with turmeric and Vermilian tilak, and the Ganges was purified with water.

Amidst the reconstruction of hymns of hymns and slogans of patriotism, the soldiers saluted their weapons, not only as warnings, but as sacred symbols of power, or as a divine power.

The mantras of “Jai Hind”, “Bharat Mata Ki Jai,” “BSF Zindabad,” and “Artillery Regiment Amar Rahe” resonated through the camp, which outlines the high morale and readiness of the force.

Shakti Singh Tanwar, the chief commandant of the Artillery Regiment, said, “This is not just a ritual of weapon worship. In ‘Operation Sindoor’, our regiment gave a decisive and fitting response to Pakistan’s hostile efforts. We neutralized many enemies positions and demonstrated that BSF is fully capable.”

Operation Cindor, a recent security campaign, demonstrated the BSF coordination with the Indian Army in thwarting the cross-limit infiltration efforts.

According to Tanwar, the Regiment made tireless efforts during the mission, in which the soldiers remained on high alert without rest for several nights. He said, “It was not just about pulling the trigger, it was about maintaining the sovereignty of the nation,” he said.

Jaisalmer stands as an important front for India’s border security, with its vast and scorching desert areas. Here, BSF personnel maintain a tireless vigilance along the international border. During the ‘Operation Sindoor’, the soldiers continuously patrolled, often located above the sand dunes, refusing to allow any violations of the border.

Tanwar said, “BSF is not just a paramilitary force; this is the first line of defense for the country.”
