On May 8, the Border Security Force (BSF) thwarted a major infiltration bid by 45–50 terrorists in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir, which was given to the BSF authorities, for the violations, using heavy mortar to destroy enemy posts after the convenience of infiltration with the International Border (IB) for the International Border (IB).
According to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) SS Mand, BSF effectively responded to shelling, destroyed enemy positions, and prevented terrorists from entering Indian territory. The BSF official also said that the forces were well prepared and responded with heavy bombing to prevent infiltration facility by Pakistan.
“Our brave soldiers have caused a lot of damage to them. We have received intelligence information that a big group is trying to infiltrate. We were ready for them and we located them on 8 May. They were a group of 45-50 men … They were moving forward in our place … We were assessing those situations until they used to bombing them … They were required.
Mand said that BSF officials were present with soldiers in further positions, who played an important role in promoting Troop Morel. He also praised the role of female soldiers, saying, “Our female soldiers stood shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts, fulfilling all the duties effectively. We really take pride in them.”
He added, “Our officers were present with the soldiers on the posts ahead. It was a major factor of morale of our soldiers to be very high … We reduced their bunkers and reduced their fire capacity … Our soldiers are still very energetic and if the enemies will handle with any kind of forces again … then we will really take care of our women’s soldiers … Are doing … “
Meanwhile, Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha visited the Poonch Brigade Headquarters on Wednesday. He met Indian Army soldiers and BSF personnel posted in the area.
In another development, BSF has resumed a formal evening retreat on all three joint check posts (JCPs) along the Punjab border. The Beating Retreat Ceremony, also known as the Flag-Lauring event, has resumed in the Attari-Vagah, Hussainula and Sadki JCP. The event was suspended on 9 May on 9 May after the launch of the “barbaric” Pahalgam attack and the victims of the Terror Attack on 9 May. It is now open to the public again.
India launched Operation Sindor on 7 May on 7 April as a decisive military response to the Pahgam terror attack in which 26 people were killed. The Indian armed forces targeted terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, causing more than 100 militants associated with terrorist organizations such as Jai-e-Mohammed, Lashkar-e-Taiba and Hizbul Mujahideen.
After the India’s strike on the terrorist infrastructure, Pakistan responded with a shelling at the Line of Control (LOC) and across Jammu and Kashmir, as well as attempted drone attacks targeting civil areas with border areas. In response, India neutralized Pakistani air defense equipment, radar infrastructure and communication centers, and caused heavy damage to 11 airbase in Pakistan.
Subsequently, on May 10, an understanding was announced at the end of enmity between India and Pakistan. (ANI)
