British police break into home to rescue abandoned baby, only to discover it's a 'realistic' doll

Doll maker put stickers on her windows to prevent something like this from happening again

A woman in Worcestershire, England, was left shocked after police broke into her home to rescue what was believed to be an abandoned baby. It turns out that this is just an extremely realistic doll, not a real baby.according to subwayAva Prior, a mother of three, paints and sells surreal “reborn” dolls as a hobby. The dolls were so lifelike that police broke in to rescue one, causing damage of over £400 (Rs 41,724).

The incident occurred in December last year when Ms Prior made one of the dolls, dressed it in a snowsuit and placed it in its crib so she could photograph it and sell it online. After clicking the photo, she left the crib on the floor and headed to a friend’s house with her young son to catch up. Meanwhile, her mother, who she speaks to regularly, couldn’t reach her because her phone was turned off and she had left it with a friend to charge. Fearing something bad had happened, her mother called the police, who immediately went to Ms Pryor’s home to check on the situation.

When they got there, they saw the fake baby through the window and thought it had been abandoned. Officers from West Mercia Police broke down the patio door of the home for safety reasons. Police later found Mr Prior at a friend’s house and explained to her what had happened.

“I walked up to the door and they asked ‘Do you have kids?'” Then I realized what was going on. I told them I drew lifelike dolls and they said ‘well, you’re good at it because we just broke into your house’ and they also said I needed to call my mom because she was upset because she thought it happened What happened to me. My phone died when I was out and I charged it at a friend’s house but it didn’t turn back on. I was going through divorce proceedings at the time. I was always on the phone or texting, so she would panic when she couldn’t reach me,” she explained.

After the hilarious mayhem, the doll maker put stickers on her windows to prevent something like this from happening again. It says “Live Rebirth Doll”. No baby left alone at home – please do not panic or break doors/windows. Thank you so much. ”

Ms Prior added: “It wasn’t funny at the time but now I can see the funny side. I had to board up the back door which cost me £260, glass in the back door cost £120 and repairs to the front door cost £60 pounds. When I finished, I weighed about 350 to 400 pounds.”

Each doll costs approximately £180 (Rs. 18,771).
