A 28-year-old British man brutally murdered his wife, chopping her body into more than 200 pieces. He kept the chopped bodies in his kitchen for seven days and dumped them into the river with the help of friends. But this wasn’t the first time the man, Nicholas Matson, had committed such a horrific crime. There were complaints that the defendant had been raped by his former partner in 2013, 2016 and 2017.

Nicholas Mattson was given a referral order in 2013 following a domestic violence incident involving his ex-girlfriend, The Mirror reported. He also received a community order in 2016 for posting explicit and intimate images of his ex-partner on three occasions. A year later, Nicholas Matson pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order against the same victim.

On April 5, Nicholas Matson admitted murdering his wife Holly Bramley, 26, in March 2023. He hid the news for about a year. He even joked with police that he “could be hiding under the bed” during the investigation. If reports are to be believed, he slashed her body in the bathroom after stabbing her multiple times in the bedroom. He then sealed the parts in plastic bags and stored them in the kitchen pantry (a refrigerated area used to store food) before discarding them.

He paid a friend 50 euros to help him dispose of the body parts before police showed up at his house about a week later. A day later, a morning walker spotted rubbish bags floating in the River Witham. Inside the two bags were a human hand and a bald head belonging to Holly Bramley. Divers found a total of 224 body parts, with some still to be discovered.

Nicholas Matson has been arrested and will serve time in prison.
