British Army says Kate Middleton will attend annual ceremony, later deletes post

London:

The announcement of British Army Catherine sparked confusion on Tuesday. Catherine, Princess of Wales, was on official duties for the first time since undergoing surgery in June during birthday celebrations for her father-in-law, King Charles III.

The British Army initially said Catherine, who is married to heir to the throne Prince William, would review soldiers on June 8 as part of the annual Trooping the Color ceremony.

Kate and William’s Kensington Palace office did not officially confirm her appearance, and the Army later removed references to it from its website.

According to photos published by US media TMZ, just 24 hours ago, Kate appeared in public for the first time since undergoing abdominal surgery in January.

The army website lists the king, who is undergoing treatment for cancer, as taking part in the main parade on June 15, his official birthday.

On Tuesday, Charles, 75, met in person with Treasurer Jeremy Hunt, who delivered the government budget on Wednesday.

The British head of state, wearing a blue suit and light tie, was photographed shaking Hunter’s hand as he welcomed him at Buckingham Palace in London.

Charles, who became king in September 2022 after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, was diagnosed with an unspecified cancer last month.

Since being discharged from hospital on January 29, the 42-year-old princess has been recovering primarily at the home she shares with William and their three young children in Windsor, west London.

Photos posted by TMZ show Kate wearing sunglasses with her mother driving the car. The celebrity news website said the photos were taken near Windsor Castle on Monday.

Social media is abuzz with conspiracy theories about the princess’ long absence from the spotlight. Rather than quashing the rumors, Authority Magazine editor-in-chief Joe Little said the photo “sparked more speculation.”

“This is a tricky situation because we all have a right to our privacy when we are unwell,” he told AFP.

“But when you are a member of a royal family that is quite complex and difficult to maintain, there is naturally a huge public interest.”

royal shortage

Charles and Catherine’s illness has created a sense of uncertainty for the royal family.

William himself has been absent from some events in order to care for his family. He also withdrew from a recent memorial service for his late godfather, King Constantine II of Greece, over unspecified “personal issues.”

Charles’s 76-year-old wife, Queen Camilla, is the most high-profile senior royal and has taken on many public duties while her husband is undergoing treatment.

She is now off until March 11, when she is expected to join William and other senior royals at the annual Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey.

She is reportedly on vacation this week, which effectively means all four most senior royals are out of action.

William, 41, was last seen in public on Thursday when he visited a London synagogue, where he denounced the rise of anti-Semitism in Britain.

He also attended the British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Film Awards in London last month.

Kate’s last public appearance was on December 25, when members of the royal family attended a Christmas church service – about three weeks before she was admitted to hospital for abdominal surgery.

Royal officials declined to say what treatment she was receiving but said her condition was not cancer.

She spent nearly two weeks in hospital and Kensington Palace said she was unlikely to return to public duties after Easter on March 31.

The princess, widely known as Kate, is one of the most popular members of the royal family.

She and William have taken on more royal duties since brother Prince Harry and wife Meghan traveled to the United States in 2020, while the king’s brother Prince Andrew was criticized for his friendship with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein And exit.
