Mirwaiz said that it is once done that it is necessary that such incidents should be placed a foolish mechanism at any time. He said, “There should be no generosity with those involved in this heinous act that enhances people’s health and remains at serious risk,” they insisted.
He insisted that Kashmir needs its own regulated slaughterhouses where proper hygiene, Islamic guidelines and food security measures are strictly seen. Both the government and the commercial community should be ready to establish these facilities, as people cannot rely on what comes from outside without investigation.
Mirwaiz further said that in its meeting yesterday, Muttahida Majlis-e-Ulama (MMU) has included jurists from all schools of idea to discuss the issue. He said that MMU already has a halal certification board, which will now be extended and strengthened to ensure compliance with Islamic standards.
“MMU is fully keen to cooperate with the government in this matter to preserve the Islamic character of Halal food and protect our people’s health and trust,” Mirwaiz repeated.
