Some of Britain’s greatest detective fiction is trying to get to the bottom of mysteries by writers Bridget PhilipsonLove to read, he has revealed.
Write for Independent, Education secretary Told how she can’t get enough for Arthur Conan Doyle Sherlock Holmes Books or mystery in Agatha Christie Hercules Perrot.
It comes when Ms. Philipson announced that next year there will be a national year of reading in the UK to encourage the love of books among children.
“Reading is not serious, this is just real. When I was not engrossed in Sherq Holmes, I was caught by Hercules Pozroot. I did not think about those books as ‘good for me’, I could not wait to find out who did it. It is a matter of reading,” she should be happy to read, “she writes.
“Some books stayed with me throughout my life. As a young adult, Vuthering Heights showed me that literature could be wild, emotional and unstable, while Zadi Smith’s swing time reminds me how both identity and friendship can be both complex and compelling.”
Now, like many parents, she is re -searching for her love to read with her children, inbetivin to minister boxes.

She writes: “As a parents, I meet to re -find the joy of reciting with my children. We laughed together at the groft and have been swept away in the exploits of Tracy Becar. They shared stories shared the language of our family, a reference point, a comfort, a spark for the conversation.”
Apart from reading enjoyment and cultural benefits, Ms. Philipson also knows that making it as a habit can have a huge impact on the expectations of children’s lives when growing up.
“Children who study regularly do better in school, are wide vocabulars, and even experience improvement in mental health and goodness. And yet, in recent years, the number of children studying for happiness has fallen. In fact, in fact, only one of the three children says they enjoy reading.

“This is a fall that rings and clear the alarm bell. And it is on each of us – to help be diverted – the government, school and parents equally. And both state secretaries for education and parents of two young children, I know that I have the responsibility of leading to examples.”
But he said that if children like books, then we need to show them that we also love books. ,
There are concerns that the phone reading is getting out of fashion because due to the rise of electronic options with phones and tablets.
But Ms. Philipson said: “In the distracted era, where the screen time is increasing and attracting attention, we need to make a conscious option. The truth is that, children still love stories that have not changed. But we should make a place to make a place for stories.”
He said: “The national year of reading is about support, and opportunities. We are working with the National Literacy Trust to help schools, libraries and community groups.
“Reading is the key that unlocks every subject. You cannot excel in science, history, or mathematics without the ability to read and understand complex ideas. But even more, reading creates sympathy. It allows children to step into someone else’s shoes, understand different experiences and imagine different future.”
