Bowen Yang signs his seven-year term Saturday night Live run with one Emotional final sketch of her friend Ariana Grande and musical guest Cher.
Yang played the role of a Delta One lounge employee working his last shift on Christmas Eve Last outing on the show Saturday night (20 December).
Seconds into the scene, Yang fought back tears as her character told Delta Lounge customers that he would be giving up his beloved festive egg-nog stand. The show’s celebrity host, Ariana Grande, played his elderly wife, who visits him on his last day at work.
While performing Charles Brown’s 1960 song “Please Come Home for Christmas” as a duet with Grande, Yang began to cry while singing about her work.
Yang told Grande, “I feel very fortunate that I get to work here, and I just wanted to enjoy it a little longer.” “Especially the people. I love every single person who works here, because they’ve done a lot for me, especially my boss.”
Cher, who performed Christmas songs including “Run Rudolph Run” at the event, then appeared on stage as Yang’s boss, the “CEO of Eggnog in Delta”.
Yang asked him, “Before I leave, do you have any feedback for me?” To which Cher replied: “Well, everyone thought you were a little too gay. But you know what? You’re perfect for me.”
All three hugged each other while continuing the song. Grande held back tears while holding Yang’s hand.
He finally said: “This place will always be home, but ah, now it’s time to go,” as he received a kiss from Grande.
