Boris Johnson’s former adviser’s blunt response when asked about Rishi Sunak

Boris Johnson’s former adviser gave a blunt response when asked whether Rishi Sunak would still be leader of the Conservative Party at the next general election.

Appearing on Andrew Marr’s show LBBC On Tuesday’s (March 26) show, Tim Montgomerie was asked whether he believed Mr Sunak would still be Conservative leader in October and November.

Mr Montgomery replied: “No.”

Mr Montgomery later claimed Mr Sunak had also questioned his popularity within the Conservative Party.

“He hasn’t made a decision to leave or anything else, but he doesn’t deny the challenges he faces personally,” Montgomery said.
