The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) says it recently seized 12 firefighters from American residents who were trying to enter the country with filled guns.
Officials say the crime took place at several ports of entry into southern Ontario over a period of three days.
Apart from 12 fire scriptures, border officials also seized 18 magazines and 254 rounds of ammunition.
Ontario has separated the borders of five American states, which all have gun restrictions and rules.
Individuals entering Canada with a gun need to declare a border officer an item when they reach the port of entry and have a valid purpose. Some acceptable reasons include hunting, competitions or protection from wildlife in remote areas.
Gun owners also need to provide their gun licenses and registration.
According to your website, CBSA “should be satisfied that you have a valid reason for bringing firearms to Canada, and can check to ensure that you have collected your firearms properly for transportation.”
“If you do not announce a gun or are untrue, CBSA can seize it, and you can withstand criminal allegations and/or monetary punishment,” it says.
