A school in Newbury has been closed for a day Bomb risk In the early hours of the morning.
The Park House School on Endovar Road did not allow the students to participate on Tuesday after receiving the danger in the early hours of the morning. The school activated its emergency procedures and is working closely with the Tems Valley police to investigate what happened.
Students were advised to stay at home, and many students who were converted to the school gate were safely rescued in a safe area before dismissing them. The school later confirmed that all the students were safe and responsible for it.
Police said they believe that there is no threat to the public and now it is being investigated as a malicious communication incident.
The force said in a statement: “We are investigating a malicious communication incident at Park House School in Endover Road, Newbury this morning.
“While the school has decided to close for the day, we believe the incident is isolated and no threat has been confirmed, so there is no threat to the public.
“Please contact if you have any concern, though.”
Park House School, which welcomed a ‘outstanding’ decision from Tedd in June, is part of the Greenshow Learning Trust, with South London, Surrey, Berkshire, Glostershair, South Glosterushair, Bristol and Plymouth schools.
A spokesman for the Greenshow Learning Trust said: “The Park House School was threatened by the bomb in the early hours of Tuesday morning. The school immediately activated its emergency procedures to ensure the safety of all students and employees.
“Students were advised to stay at home, and the small number reaching the school was safely taken to a specified secure area before being dismissed. All students are safe and responsible for it.
“The security and welfare of the school community is our top priority. Park House School is working closely with the police as they conduct a thorough investigation.
“Parents and carers will be updated as more information becomes available.”
