Blue Jais Catcher Elegendra Kirk named the second all-star game

Web Desk, 07/07/202507/07/2025

Alejandro Kirk did not want to make any perception about being nominated in the American League roster for the next week’s all-star game at Atlanta.

Toronto Blue Jais Catcher on Sunday discovered at the club house during a hitter meeting before winning 3–2 on Los Angeles Angels, when Toronto completed the three-game sweeps of visitors. The honor meant a good deal for Kirk, whose previous all-star appearance was in 2022.

Through a translator at Blue Jais Dugout at the Rogers Center, Kirk said, “I had an idea, but I didn’t want to be very emotional until I knew it was going to be official.”

“It was clearly very emotional for the first time, but I think it was going to be more special because I am going to go with my daughter.”

Kirk’s wife Sophia gave birth to her daughter in February 2023.

Toronto’s manager John Schneider could give good news to Kirk on Sunday morning when the two had a conversation each. Instead, he was waiting until the Blue Zais lineup was engaged in his Hitters’ meeting.

“I told them two things: that the dome was closed and Ellajandro Kirk was an all-star, which is very good and so well,” Schneider said in his post-game news conference.

Kirk is batting. In 301, seven homeers and 41 runs bat in this season. Kirk’s average is the 11th in MLB and the second among the catchers behind the Los Angeles Dojers K Wil Smith (.332).

He will attend the Trust Park on 15 July on Wednesday for the fourth time in Vladimir Gurro Junior, a team partner named Al Starter.

Kirk’s first all-star appearance was in 2022, when she finished the season with .285 average and 14 homers. The 26 -year -old has a .270 career average with a total of 43 homeers in six sessions, with Toronto.

Schneider has seen his catcher developed with raw talent one of the best all-round players of the game behind the plate in five years.

“I remember in 2020, he was coming up, we were really writing on his restband what the pitchers threw,” Snider said.

“It’s great to see her growth. It’s great to see the pitcher’s trust to see her. And what she is doing aggressively, one of the best in the league.”

Kirk credited his mental approach as well as work on physical aspects to return to ASG. His health has also been a factor.

“I just consider myself a full hitter, more than the previous years,” Kirk said. “I tried to hit a lot of homes. I am no longer considering myself home run hitter.

“This year, I wanted to be a full hitter to hit the ball in another way, trying to find the runners, looking for a way to help the team win.”

Schneider praised the morality of Kirk’s work in returning as displayed in 2022. The Toronto manager also said that Kirk has a laying and separate personality.

“He is a unicorn. He is one of the one,” said Schneider. “In 2022, he changed a lot of heads in 2022. After a few difficult years, he understands what he needs to do to become great in the box and has hired him.”

Cancer, who signed a US $ 58 million in a five -year extension in spring training, played in his 75th game on Sunday. He was only favorable for 103 last year and is at the speed of reaching his career-hai 139 outing in 2022.

“I am doing everything that I can help the team win,” Kirk said. “I’m so happy and I feel very good right now.”

With the recent origin of Blue Jais at the top of the American League East, Kirk hopes that he may come first in Atlanta next week.

“It looks great in the first place,” Kirk said. “You can feel it in a club house. Vibes are great. Everyone is competing, going there they are doing everything they can do to win a game.”

“It is great to be in the first place.”
