Atria police station in-charge Inspector Rakesh Kumar Gupta said that the deceased was identified as Umesh (30), a resident of Rampur Kala police station area.
He told that Umesh lived in a rented house in Atria town and was working as an instructor in Dariyapur East Secondary School.
Gupta said, “Umesh was alone in his room at the time of the incident. Police were informed after the door was not opened for a long time. Since the iron door was locked from inside, it was cut, after which Umesh was found hanging.”
According to family members, Umesh was recently assigned duty as a BLO under the Special Intensive Receipt (SIR) exercise and was under pressure due to increased workload.
However, the exact reason behind the suicide is not yet known.
Police said the body was taken down and after completing legal formalities, it was sent to the district headquarters for post-mortem. He said that the matter is being investigated from all angles and a case will be registered after preliminary investigation.
Currently, SIR exercise is going on in the state since November.
there have been many BLO’s death And suicides and in some cases their families have alleged that work pressure led to such tragedies, a charge the local administration has denied.
The issue of BLO’s death has also become a political issue and opposition parties like Congress, Samajwadi Party as well as BSP are also targeting the government.
