Jaipur, September 24 (IANS) In Rajasthan, blind students in government schools will now get an opportunity to study computer science.
Education Minister Madan Dilawar on Wednesday announced the announcement during a felicitation ceremony at the government Blind School, Anganwa, Jodhpur, which was organized by blind teachers and students.
Welcoming the minister at the school entrance, Principal Prakash Chandra Khinchi congratulated him with a shawl. Minister Dilawar embraced the principal and expressed his affection for the students.
The minister then planted a peepal tree as part of the program and interacted with the students to understand their needs.
During the conversation, Class 11 student Vijay Bhanu highlighted the challenges coming in the absence of computer science as a subject of visually impaired students and the absence of computer science.
Immediately replying, Minister Dilawar announced that computer science will be introduced in all four government blind schools from the next academic session.
Addressing the ceremony, Minister Dilawar said, “Distily impaired service is like serving God. We should leave no stone unturned to help our blind brothers and sisters. I have been doing blind work since 1993 and will continue to try to maximize the benefits of the government’s plans.
He said, “It is always a pleasure to meet you all. Next time, I will spend more time to sit with you and talk.”
The minister also inaugurated a solar power panel installed on the roof of the school hostel. On his way, he included blindly impaired students playing carrom, sharing a light moment with them.
At the ceremony, Banswara Panchayat Primary Education Officer, Nazbal Hussain Pathan presented the minister Dilawar with a saffron dupatta and a portrait of Goddess Tripura Sundari, in which the visually impaired was praised for his dedication.
Officials Present Included Joint Director of Education Om Singh Rajpurohit, Additional Ceo of Zila Parishad Ganpat Suthar, BJP Jodhpur Rural District President Tribhuvan Singh Bhati, Former Jormer Jormer District President Swaroop Singh Khara, and other representatives.
