BJP president JP Nadda will not attend the consecration ceremony of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and will instead watch the historic event from the Jhandewalan temple.
In a post on Twitter on Saturday, he thanked the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, which is in-charge of the construction and management of the temple, for inviting him to the January 22 “Pran Pratishtha” event.
I have received information from Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust about the sacred program of consecration of Ram temple in Shri Ayodhya. After 500 years of struggle, I want the post of trustee of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra.

Noting that the grand temple is being built after a struggle of 500 years, he said he will go for “darshan” with his family after January 22. Several BJP leaders, including Union ministers Amit Shah and Rajnath Singh, have been invited to the event, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s presence will be one of the main attractions.
Amid suggestions from the leadership that they should visit the temple after January 22, when a large number of guests are expected, ruling party leaders are expected to witness the ceremony along with the public and others from different parts of the country. There is a possibility. The Trust has invited key leaders, mostly presidents, of all major parties.
Almost all the opposition leaders invited to the function have refused to attend it, with the Congress calling it a BJP-RSS programme.
