“I politely request that Dr. Keshav Baliram Hedwar be honored posthumously with Bharat Ratna. This demand is not only to respect his unique contribution to the nation, but also to inspire the youth with his ideals of nationalism,” written in the letter.
Siddiqui highlighted Hedwar’s early revolutionary spirit, remembering how he shouted slogans of Vande Mataram during British rule as a school student. He further stated that during his medical education in Kolkata, joined with the Hedar Visitan Samiti, taking inspiration from freedom fighters like Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and Veer Savarkar.
Siddiqui wrote that he was jailed twice, once in 1921 in 1921 and then in 1930 during Jungle Satyagraha, but never distracted by his path. “He famous,” India belongs to Indians, we demand complete freedom. “
Speaking to IANIS on Wednesday, Siddiqui said, “I believe that there is a small gesture for someone like Bharat Ratna Dr. Hedarwar. Asked whether the opposition would support the proposal, Siddiqui replied, “He should work for the country. Did his vision not directed us, India would have been fragmented like Pakistan. His foresight gave India a unified force.”
He said that when some parties failed to keep their own families or organizations united, it is the RSS and Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is working towards an undivided and prosperous India.
He said, “The RSS has millions of workers serving the nation. They are like soldiers defending the country, not only on borders but within the society,” he said.
