Sources said that BJP may release the first list of candidates for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections this evening. It is being told that the list which was announced in BJP’s press conference at 6 pm, has come a few days after continuous meetings held till late night in Delhi. He said the BJP may also announce new allies in the National Democratic Alliance or NDA.
The BJP’s Central Election Committee (CEC) met on Thursday night in which its members, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, deliberated on finalizing the first list of candidates for the Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May. The ruling party wants to declare the names of its candidates for Lok Sabha seats before the Election Commission announces the election schedule. Leaders from various states participated in the meeting – Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath of Uttar Pradesh, Bhupendra Patel of Gujarat, Mohan Yadav of Madhya Pradesh, Vishnu Dev Sai of Chhattisgarh, Pushkar Singh Dhami of Uttarakhand and Pramod Sawant of Goa. State leaders usually attend the CEC meeting when candidates for their state constituencies are discussed.
Earlier sources had told NDTV that BJP can announce more than 100 names which will include stalwarts like PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah.
Sources claim that the BJP intends to declare the names of most of its candidates before the election dates are announced to increase pressure on its rival, the Congress-led Indian faction, which is still in the seat-sharing deal in several states. Facing obstacles.
