'Learn from Hemant Soren': BJP leader assassinates Arvind Kejriwal after arrest

Begusarai, Bihar:

Union Minister Giriraj Singh lashed out at Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, suggesting he has “lost all morals” and should “learn” from former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, Soren resigned before being arrested by the Enforcement Directorate.

“Morality is also a thing. Kejriwal has lost all morality. Under the garb of morality, he clashed with Anna Hazare. He said the law does not prohibit him from running the government from jail,” the The BJP leader told ANI on Sunday.

“How could our Baba Saheb Ambedkar have thought that these unscrupulous people would become chief ministers? Those will be put in jail,” the BJP leader said, while pleading guilty to corruption charges. Arvind Kejriwal, who is still running the government after his arrest, expressed concerns over the Delhi excise policy case.

“Those who called themselves ‘Kattar Imaandar’ are now called Kattar Beman,” he said, taking a jibe at the ruling Aam Admi Party.

He said that when (RJD chief and former Bihar chief minister) Lalu Prasad was sent to jail, he made his wife the chief minister. “You also made your wife the chief minister. He should learn from Hemant Soren…,” he said while demanding Kejriwal’s resignation.

Notably, former Jharkhand chief minister Hemant Soren had resigned before he was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate in connection with a money laundering probe in connection with an alleged land scam.

In a dramatic development on the evening of March 21, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) arrested the AAP national convenor after questioning him at his residence in connection with the GST policy case.

The arrest came hours after the Delhi High Court rejected his petition seeking to prevent the central probe agency from taking any coercive action against him.

The case relates to alleged irregularities and money laundering during the formulation and implementation of the Delhi excise policy for 2021-22. The policy was later rescinded amid allegations of violations.

On Saturday, Kejriwal moved the Delhi High Court challenging the March 22 order of his arrest and remand approved by the trial court.

His legal team said his plea before the Delhi High Court argued that both the arrest and the remand order were “unlawful” and that he was entitled to immediate release.

Several AAP leaders were also detained by Delhi Police on Friday when they held a protest against Kejriwal’s arrest in the national capital.

The arrest of the AAP top leader is a blow to the India Bloc, an alliance of more than 20 opposition parties, which is still trying to reach seat-sharing agreements in many states ahead of the general election.

Several Indian leaders have come out in support of Kejriwal while accusing the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Center of putting pressure on the opposition.

However, the BJP has denied all the allegations.

A lower court extended Delhi CM’s supervision till March 28, with the education ministry claiming that the Aam Adami Party (AAP) was the main beneficiary of the proceeds of crime in the alleged liquor scam.

Two AAP leaders Manish Sisodia and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh have been sent to judicial custody in connection with the GST policy case.
