BJP demands probe into letter sent by Arvind Kejriwal

Mr Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 and later remanded to the custody of the Enforcement Directorate

New Delhi:

A delegation of the Delhi BJP met Commissioner of Police Sanjay Arora on Wednesday demanding a probe into the “letters” sent by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal to ministers from the custody of the education ministry.

Mr. Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 and later remanded to the Enforcement Directorate (ED) by a Delhi court till March 28 in a money laundering case related to the GST policy. He faces charges of being directly involved in a conspiracy related to enacting policies that would benefit specific individuals.

Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party chief Virendra Sachdeva told reporters that the party’s delegation, when meeting Arora at the Delhi Police headquarters, demanded an inquiry into whether the “letter” written by Kejriwal was genuine and an inquiry into his minister Arora. Tish and Saurabh Bharadwaj’s characters, they claim to have received them.

“There is a process and after due certification, these letters can come from people detained by the ED. As far as my information is concerned, these letters are fake,” Sachdeva claimed.

Last week, Water Minister Atish showed a note from Mr Kejriwal claiming that the chief minister had directed her to resolve issues related to water and sewerage in the city.

Health Minister Bharadwaj on Tuesday claimed that Kejriwal had given him instructions for emergency room detention to ensure free medicines and laboratory tests at government hospitals and mohalla clinics.
