Bihar: Women’s post office opens in Motihari, which aims to empower them

Motihari, October 1 (IANS) In a constant effort to promote women empowerment, Central and Bihar State Governments are implementing new initiatives. As part of this mission, a dedicated Women’s City Post Office was inaugurated today in Motihari, the third in Bihar at such a post office.

The inauguration was lit by BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh, local MLA Pramod Kumar, and Post Superintendent Ashutosh Aditya by lighting a formal lamp.

Two new post offices were opened in Motihari and both were inaugurated by MP Radha Mohan Singh on the same day.

Speaking on the occasion, guests highlighted the modernization of post offices under the central government, including integration of banking services.

He emphasized that this special sub-post office for women has been opened keeping in mind their convenience and specific requirements and will provide them significant benefits.

BJP MP Radha Mohan Singh said, “People are lucky for the inauguration of the third women’s city post office of Bihar. Empowerment is not only about giving rights, but about creating an opportunity. I congratulate everyone. This step will actually empower women.”

Postmaster Ashutosh Aditya said, “All employees of this post office will be women. It will definitely benefit many people, especially women in this field.”

The central government continues to implement many schemes with the aim of empowering women in various fields. These include Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana (LPG connection), BT Bachao Bedi Padho (girl’s safety and education), Mahila Samriddhi Yojana (supporting women entrepreneurs), a stop center and women’s helpline (support for violence), and Rashtriya Crach Yojana (Childcare Moners).

Women empowerment is important for achieving sustainable development, improving health and nutrition, increasing economic growth and building a more equitable society. Schemes such as PMAY, BBBP, and Mahila Samman Saving Sextription aim to ensure that women have access to education, financial freedom, social security and violence and discrimination.
