Patna, Nov 14 (IANS) The NDA has registered a landslide victory in Bihar and Darbhanga district has given a perfect result, significantly contributing to the alliance’s statewide dominance.
There are nine assembly constituencies in Darbhanga and all nine have been won by BJP and JDU. Other NDA allies, such as LJPRV, HAM, or RLM, did not contest the elections here.
Alinagar: Alinagar seat was considered to be the hot seat of Darbhanga due to Bhojpuri folk singer Maithili Thakur contesting the elections on BJP ticket. He has defeated RJD candidate Binod Mishra by a margin of 11730 votes.
Bahadurpur: JDU’s Madan Sahni, who was a cabinet minister in the previous Nitish Kumar government, has won the election battle against RJD’s Bhola Yadav. Bhola Yadav is considered close to RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav. The victory margin was 12011 votes.
Benipur: JDU’s Binay Kumar Chaudhary defeated Congress candidate Mithilesh Kumar Chaudhary by 13603 votes.
Darbhanga: Former cabinet minister and BJP candidate Sanjay Saraogi defeated VIP’s Umesh Sahni by 24593 votes.
Darbhanga Rural: JDU’s Ratnesh Kumar Mandal defeated RJD candidate Lalit Kumar Yadav by 18453 votes.
Gaura Bauram: Gaura Bauram was one of the seats where a friendly fight took place between RJD and VIP and ultimately the VIP candidate withdrew his candidature. As a result, after 20 rounds of counting, BJP’s Sujit Singh is leading over RJD’s Afzal Ali Khan by 5253 votes. Only two rounds of counting are left on this seat. Santosh Sahni of VIP has got only 381 votes.
Hayaghat: BJP’s Ram Chandra Prasad won from here by 11839 votes. He has defeated Shyam Bihari of CPIM.
Jale: BJP’s Jibesh Kumar, who was also a cabinet minister in the Nitish Kumar government between 2020 and 2025, has defeated Congress’s Rishi Mishra. The victory margin was 21862 votes.
Keoti: On this seat, BJP’s Murari Mohan Jha defeated RJD’s Faraz Fatmi by 7305 votes. Faraz is the son of former minister Ali Ashraf Fatmi.
