In the second phase, polling will be conducted on 122 seats in West Champaran, East Champaran, Sheohar, Sitamarhi, Madhubani, Supaul, Araria, Purnea, Kishanganj, Katihar, Purnea, Katikhar, Bhagalpur, Bhagalpur, Bhagalpur, Banka Jamui, Nawada, Aurangabad, Rohtas, Kaimur, Gaya, Arwal, and Jehanabad.
The election has high stakes for both NDA and Grand Alliance, both camps confident about their victory in this important political fight.
As Bihar is ready for 2025 assembly elections, many constituencies have paid special attention to high-profile candidates and political crossover.
One of the most viewed seats will be Raghopur in Vaisari district, where the leaders of the opposition Tejashvi Yadav will contest once again.
After winning from this Yadav-series constituency in both 2015 and 2020, Tejashvi will see to maintain his stronghold for the third consecutive term.
In Mahua (Vaiseli district), Tej Pratap Yadav, elder son of RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav, has announced his candidature from his newly formed party, Jantrick Janta Dal. Interestingly, he will face a strong challenge from the RJD candidate, as Mahua is traditionally considered the RJD stronghold.
In 2020, Mukesh Roshan won the seat on the RJD ticket. Tej Pratap contested the seat of Hasanpur in Samastipur in the last election.
Another major battleground will be Lakhisarai, which was represented by Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, who was elected in 2020 and will re -elect on the BJP ticket.
The Mokama seat in Patna district is also expected to witness a hot competition.
Bahubali leader Anant Singh, who was earlier with RJD, will contest this time on JD-U ticket.
Singh lost his seat after being convicted in the case of a weapon act, after which his wife Neelam Devi won the sub-power on the RJD ticket.
2025 Bihar election will also be a litmus test for many rebel leaders.
Among them are Chetan Anand, who won from Shohar on an RJD ticket in 2020, but later joined the JD-U during the floor test of Nitish Kumar Sarkar along with Neelam Devi and Phald Yadav in February 2024.
The latter elected from Suryagarh (Lakhisarai district) on RJD ticket also changed the sides.
Similarly, Sanjeev Kumar, who represented Parbatta (Khagaria district) as JD-U MLA in 2020, recently joined the RJD.
Another JD-U leader Bima Bharti crossed the RJD during the political upheaval after the floor test of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar in February 2024.
