Patna, Oct 9 (IANS) After Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Tejashwi Yadav promised one government job per family, NDA leaders in Bihar sharply criticized him.
Union Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh mocked Tejashwi Yadav’s statement by referring to the land-for-job scam linked to his father RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav.
“I laugh when I hear about giving him a job. His father gave him a job in exchange for land. What will he do now?” Singh quipped.
Giriraj Singh continued his attack and raised questions on Tejashwi’s performance during the tenure of the previous government.
He said, “You talk about competition with Nitish Kumar and Narendra Modi, but what did RJD achieve in 15 years of rule? You were a minister – what work did you do in your department? You have done nothing except lying.”
On the issue of seat sharing within the NDA, Giriraj Singh rejected reports of discord and said that everything is fine within the alliance.
He said, “The two major parties are BJP and JDU. Jitan Ram Manjhi, Chirag Paswan and Upendra Kushwaha have every right to make demands, but there is no resentment. NDA is united.”
Meanwhile, Hindustani Awam Morcha (HAM) chief and Union MSME minister Jitan Ram Manjhi also ridiculed Tejashwi’s promise, calling it a sign of desperation for power.
Manjhi wrote on X, “Such an announcement is nothing but a desperation to gain power.”
He further said, “At this rate, Tejashwi Yadav may soon announce that every family of Bihar will be given a farmhouse on the moon and Mars if RJD forms the government.”
He said sarcastically, ‘No matter how hard the donkey tries, it cannot grow horns on its head.’
Earlier in the day, Tejashwi Yadav said, “Election campaigning has officially started in Bihar. Therefore, I announce that when our government is formed, within 20 months one member of every family in Bihar will get a government job.”
