Patna, Oct 11 (IANS) Janata Dal United (JD-U) working president Sanjay Kumar Jha on Saturday criticized RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav’s recent announcement of promising to provide a government job to every family in Bihar, calling it a desperate attempt to grab power.

Speaking to reporters at Patna airport, Jha said, “When RJD was in power for 15 years, what did they do? How many jobs did they provide? Does Tejashwi have any data to show? The way he is making these claims only shows his frustration.”

Taking a further dig at the RJD leader, Jha said, “Look at the situation – those who were given jobs, their land was snatched away and the matter is still under hearing in the court. The youth of Bihar have full faith in the leadership of Nitish Kumar.”

Responding to reports of some JD-U leaders joining RJD, Jha said, “Such things happen during elections. Some people are looking for tickets, but this election is being fought on the face of Nitish Kumar and our victory is certain.”

Jha, who is also the working national president of JD-U, left for Delhi during the day to attend the NDA meeting.

He is scheduled to meet BJP leaders to finalize the seat-sharing formula and discuss other key matters related to the elections.

Jha said, “The public is completely with Nitish Kumar.” He said the NDA’s seat-sharing formula would be announced soon, which would make the alliance’s strategy clear before the Bihar Assembly elections.

Tejashwi Yadav on Thursday (October 9) announced that if his party forms the government after the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections, every family in the state will get at least one member irrespective of caste, community or age.

Yadav had earlier said, “The scheme is feasible and based on deep scientific research. After the results are declared on November 14 and our government is formed, we will make a law within 20 days to ensure one government job per family and implement it in 20 months.”
